Week 29
I continued aligning assets this week. i find working from one area of the level and swiftly moving on to the next part level, this kept a nice momentum and allowed me to see what was missing in the frame. I finished the second part of the level in the early days of the week adding the guard tower and some abstract bent tress to frame the guard tower.
During the process i realised some of the areas where a little be bland. In these bland areas I added different assets to increase visual interest. e.g. Barrels and Chest.
I moved on to the bridge area however ass soon as I arrived at this area i realised the landscape was completely off. therefore I took time away from schedule and re did the landscape. I also created the landscape material.
I went back and finished asset alliging on the castle entrance however there was still no way of entering the hallway so for visual interest and for a smooth level transition i added a teleport portal mechanic from a tutorial i found on youtube; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi368gF_Rj4
I used the witch signs as the portal material for design constancy.
After finishing the asset alignment lighting and adding the second volume box, i was able to finish the castle entrance by finishing with theteleport linked to the hallway.
This was a busy week due to deadline coming up however I was still able to move on and start aligning the courtyard.
